How to check if your Oracle server has enough resources?

Beauty_and_dBestOct 12 2016 — edited Oct 18 2016

Hi ALL,

Oracle 11gR1

OL5 or RHEL5

I want to know if there are CPU or Memory bottlenecks in our Oracle server.

What is the right OS tool to monitor our Oracle server? Vmstat? IOstat? Sar? Top? Freemem? etc

For example I want to  gather CPU and Memory Statistics Usage from  1am to 1am  24-hour range in a day.

At at this range, I want to know at what time does peak usage of CPU and Memory occurs? Or at what time the server is idle?

Is this possible to collect? Or is there  database v$view where these information are stored? Does AWR performance view able to capture it?

Please help...

Kind regards,

jc
