How To Check Block Mode (Insert, Update or Delete)

Hello All Gurus,
Please help me. I have created a form containing many data blocks based on different tables and they are not linked to each other (No Master Detail Relationship). I have created buttons on blocks to save the record as i want to perform commit on other blocks when save is pressed on one block. Now i want to disable the save key (F10) on block when it is in insert mode and enable it when in update or delete mode.
Any help or suggestion Will be very helpfull to me as i am new in your community
