APEX

I am displaying inputted information in an oracle sql calendar.  Can any one explain how to center that data in the cell  and how to change the color of the entire cell

The color is being changed using the display attributes: Data Background Color.

And we are physically centering it using spaces.  See sample below.  We would like to center it using css or have apex do it.   Can anyone explain this process or does anyone know of a tutorial that can explain this?
