how to change the background color of JFRAME(canvas frame) of netbeans?

i have try it with the properties given in netbeans 5.5 beta version,but still when i run the frame it show me the default color,and the color which i have selcted wont display it just blink and goes off from the frame.....plzzzzzzzzzz help me.......
