How to change RMAN backup directory?

Hi There,
How can we change the current backup directory for RMAN? We just ran a full databae backup and the backup was created under $ORACLE_HOME\database when we want it under a completely different directory.

Also, we noticed that the backup was created on the local server where the DB is residing not on the backup server where the RMAN instance is!!?? How can we change this so that the backup is stored on the backup server as appose to the database server?
