How to Change Oracle 10g from Dedicated server mode to Shared (MTS) Mode

644517Jul 15 2008 — edited Jul 21 2008
Hello
I have my QA instance on Dedicated server mode.
I want to change it to shared Connection mode.

Let me know the steps involved.
Also, the parameters....and their values.

like, the user base in tis company is 300 and in the oacle database admin guide says that 1 shared server can handle 10 connections.
and 1 dispatcher can handle 1000 connections.

in this way, can i do the following:
shared server =30
max shared server=50
dispatcher=1
max dispatcher=2

or in the sense of every process can bring upto 2 sessions
then for 300 connections (users) 150 shared servers, 200 max shared servers,
1 dispatcher and 2 max dispatcher.

what is a good value for large_pool_area and LARGE_POOL_MIN_ALLOC for this MTS mode.

let me know this and steps involved to change from dedicated to MTS.

thnx
Ashok
