How to chage the Oracle console language?

I have installed (unintentionally) my Oracle with some kind of Russian language settings - so - when I am trying to use sqlplus etc. command line tools - then I can get only series of strange symbols - can I change some parameters with aim to get my command line tools to use US or UK English?
