How to call "File browser" as root? Switch on-demand with password prompt

pstein-JavaNetFeb 24 2015

When I (as non-root user) click on menu

Places--->Home folder

then the File Browser opens with my non-user privileges.

How can I:

a) let the File Browser open (as above) and AUTOMATICALLY prompt at startup for root password?

...and run it then with root privileges?

b) let the File Browser open (as above) and work a while with non-root privileges. Then after some actions switch manually to root privileges (with root password prompt).

I miss a File Browser menu "switch to root privileges"

If possible I would prefer no "su" + File Browser command line call from terminal but a click on icon.

Peter
