How to calculate an average completion time

882645Aug 16 2011 — edited Aug 16 2011
I have a table that tracks the time that a job I'm interested in finishes each day. Example:

END_TIME
-------------------------
01-JUL-2011 07:25:31 AM
02-JUL-2011 07:10:58 AM
03-JUL-2011 06:50:56 AM
04-JUL-2011 07:04:44 AM
05-JUL-2011 07:04:28 AM
06-JUL-2011 07:16:03 AM
07-JUL-2011 07:25:59 AM

I know that over the past few years, the completion time of this job has been increasing. I am trying to show the average completion time by month. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to calculate that average? The results of my query would look something like this:

MONTH AVERAGE_TIME
------------------------------------------------------------
01-JUN-2011 7:03 AM
01-JUL-2011 7:14 AM
01-AUG-2011 7:21 AM

Thanks for your help. I've been struggling with this one for awhile now...
