how to avoid overlapping of menu( in css) from the Apex items??

Hi All,

i used css template for Menu say (admin manager,symbol manager,price in template), also i have a drop down item say 'category' in application. now wat happens is..... When i place the mouse over the select choices it displays them but the item (category) overlapps the choice from menu... bocz of this i am unable to view the menu????

how can i view the Menu properly???

i used Z-index:1 for the Menu... then also no changes or reflectd...

plz help me out!!!!!!!
