How to add a portlet.
883224Sep 16 2011 — edited Sep 19 2011This seems so basic. It used to be easy in WLS Portal. Publish. That's it. Now, if I create a portlet producer I can create a JSR 286 portlet. Then when I 'connect' to my portal by creating a WSRP producer it pulls down existing portlets and gives me a warning! All I see is the default form and display portlet. Is anyone actually using this project to create portlets? Because I've read through a few books, docs, talked to a webcenter 'expert' and NO ONE ANYWHERE seems to know how to actually PUT A PORTLET that anyone can use on the server. You can actually add a portlet to webcenter portal right? I can right click a jspx page and add it to portlet.xml. I run it....nada. It's not there anywhere. It's not in the default catalog, its not there when I do a WSRP producer, nothing.
How do I publish my portlet.
It should not be this hard. Even in the latest Yannick book, Webcenter 11g Administration cookbook, there are MANY sections that just say things like 'And then you register it'. AND THATS IT! NO one explains it anywhere! Chapter 3 says to create a portlet but then never talks about how to make it available! It then talks about how to use the existing form and display portlets! Why does he do this? Why wouldn't he use one he just created? Is it not possible? Does even he not know?
Summary: How do I add a portlet to my portlet server?
