How to access file systems (DF,EF) using Javacard Applet?

Dear friends,

I am new to java card technology, and i have good experience in ISO-7816 based smard cards. I want to clarify whether Javacard Applet can able to access (read/write data) smart card file system (DF,EF) or not?

Friends those already found the solution for this requirement pls help me to solve it. It is very urgent for our further developement
