How is the SSHA salt calculated?
807573Feb 28 2005 — edited Jan 16 2008I would like to know how the salt is calculated for SSHA passwords in Directory Server 5.2. I don't see anywhere in the docs or the o=config tree where the salt is specified, so I am assuming a different salt is used for each password. For example, perhaps the salt is the first two letters of the uid, username, or the RDN.
If anyone knows how the salt is determined for SSHA passwords, I would greatly appreciate hearing from you.
