How FQDM works with free format Excel as source data?

Hi All,

Does FQDM support free format Excel file as data source?
If Yes, how to define the definition of the file ( field to dimension column)?

We'd like to import data from Excel file to HFM system without using Excel Temple file provided with FQDM.
Can we do that?*
