how does ORACLE behaive when facing lock timeout and deadlock?

Can someone please let me know what is oracle database behaviour in dealing with lock TimeOuts and deadlocks?
for example does it rolback the transaction when it face a lock time-out?
Ist here some configuration to determine its behaviour when it face a deadlock or lock time-out?
