I've been tasked to produce an SNMP trap monitoring solution. And I need advice on a direction or pointers to documentation.

Problem
I need to monitor StorageTek arrays, Brocade switches and LOMs using SNMP traps sent to a server.
I have NO budget.
Someone rambled something about Sun Management Centre (SMC) being able to do the job.

What I did
I've installed SMC to have a look, and found no tools.(am i missing something?)
I googled for SMC and how it can monitor for SNMP - and "Halcyon" popped up in how it was a snap-in in the past, (am I on the right track).
I've checked sun sites for documentation, but I'm not used to the sunsite yet and progress is slow.

Actual Question
Does anyone have any pointers on which way to head; I need a robust and industry-proven solution which doesn't cost money, and preferrably using SMC.
Pointers will be useful.
Links to documentation would be appreciated.
Pointers which may lead to documentation will also be helpful
