How do I install Oracle client ODBC drviers w/o the damn JRE?

458033Oct 3 2005 — edited Oct 5 2005
When I install the Oracle client to get the ODBC drivers, I can't seem to de-select the included JRE installation. This is a problem because the Oracle client installation also puts the path to this JRE in the system PATH, which is breaking other Java-based applications/sites because they are seeing this version of Java before the one they require... This Oracle client is only being installed for the ODBC connectivity, nothing more, I shouldn't be REQUIRED to install Oracle's JRE (and I won't even get into how idiotic it is that it's being registered in the system PATH)...

TIA!,
Dave
