How do I import an Oracle dump file?

I have some 10g .dmp files that I need to restore into a new database in EX. Apparently the thing wants a bunch envronmental variables to be set. I have set the ORACLE_HOME and SYSTEM_PASS variables. What additional variables or settings do I need to make, and what should the command line look like?
