How do I apply CPU patches to Fusion Middleware?

BillWApr 24 2013
I recently put into production version 11.1.1.6.0 of Fusion Middleware/OID and for the first time am ready to apply the quarterly patches. The installation is running on two servers with replication between the two and the following pieces are installed on each Server -
WebLogic 10.3.6.0
Fusion Middleare/OID 11.1.1.6.0
OEM (not sure if this is part of FMW) 11.1.1.6.0
RDBMS (OID Repository) 11.2.0.3.0

I received the April Critical Patch Update notification from Oracle. I first went to the OTN link -
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/topics/security/cpuapr2013-1899555.html

Based on that there is a patch for the Oracle Database and for the other components there is a Fusion Middleware patch.

The links for all products point to document ID 1525152.1 which I looked at.

First I went to the Database section and see several patches listed for 11.2.0.3 RDBMS. I am not sure if I should choose the CPU, PSU or SPU or a combination thereof and would appreciate direction.

I then look at the Fusion Middleware section, 3.4 and see links to several other sections, section 3.4.13 for Oracle Fusion Middleware, section 3.4.17 for Oracle Identityy Management & section 3.4.48 for Oracle Weblogic Server. The question there is which patch set do I choose? Will one patch handle WebLogic, OEM & OID, does the Fusion Middleware patch encompass all products or is a combination necessary and also which specific patch numbers do I choose.

Once I have chosen the patch sets is there a particular order in which I must apply the patches. Do I patch the RDBMS first, Fusion Middleware and components first or some other order?

And then, since there is replication between my OID servers can I patch one server at a time or must I patch them at the same time?

I am very confused and need some advice. Thank you.
