how can i test a db connection with a ad account?

windows os... windows server / windows client is domain member.

is this possible?

if i have an active directory account who has permissions within a db... how can i test if i can access this db with that user?

can i just logon with that user to my workstation and create an odbc connection? without specifying a user a user within the odbc connection? (since i am logged on with that user)
