How can I "reset" the selected tab in a tabs container region?

Tony AndrewsJun 6 2017 — edited Jun 8 2017

I have built a demo page on apex.oracle.com to illustrate my issue. On the home page there is a menu option "Tabs Issue" which navigates to page 2. On page 2 I have 3 regions: a tab container region and 2 regions defined as tabs within that container:

If I click on Tab 2, Tab 2 is selected (of course).

If I then click on Home to go back to page 1, and then click on Tabs Issue to return to page 2, I find that APEX has remembered that I was looking at Tab 2 and has it as the active tab. (You can see this for yourself on the demo page).

My question is: is there a way of making APEX "forget" and default back to tab 1 when returning to the page? I've tried clearing the cache of page 2 and resetting pagination (a long shot).
