How can I improve NESTED LOOPS OUTER and HASH JOIN OUTER

I have a SELECT Statement that is LEFT JOINing about 6 different tables. I have provided INDEX hints for the tables and the Cost of joining to them is good. However its the NESTED LOOPS OUTER that is killing me on the Explain, the cost being over 200,000 for four of them. I also have a HASH JOIN OUTER that is not as significant at a cost of 112,360.

I understand that I'm sort of at the liberty of the optimizer to perform all its joining operations but is there anything I can do to try and improve this???
