I am using a Linux hardware independent backup/recovery system called Storix. It has the capabiliy of cloning your system for recovery to any hardware.
I successfully used this at old RedHat Linux 4 without any problems. However, I have not been able to clone my system since building a new Oracle Linux7. The process to clone is to plugin an unused USB disk and Storix will format it and proceed to clone your OS to the drive. The problem is, once I plug in the drive, OL7 AUTOMOUNTS it, Then when you launch Storix Admin to to begin the cloning process, it says the drive you have defined is already in use. I contacted Storix and they tell me that Storix needs to MOUNT the drive but OL7 has already done so. I have tried removing autofs from the kernel and making sure NFS, or any autofs daemons NOT are running, but the system STILL mounts the drive when I plug it in, presenting me with the Gnome menu, Open With Files or Eject. Even if I select Eject, the drive icon on the desktop disappears but within 5 seconds it re-appears and drive has been remounted.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
