How can I become a DBA?

Dear experts,

I donot know whether i should ask only technical questions or can ask advicce too.

I am very much interested in doing Oracle DBA.
Now only I have started learning Oracle 9i.
I know DBA covers besides SQl,PL/SQL,Database recovery,Database tuning,Migration and Network adminstration.

What are the other software should I know when i complete the above mentioned topics and come out to market as a DBA.
like a server OS,any other front end language,any other RDMBS(for comparision study),Java tools etc.

As I am very new,I beg your help on this regard.
If you guide me how should I prepare, I'll plan accordingly and start preparing.
