how B-Tree indexes grows
i have a general question...i have read that B-Tree index grows as follows
when half of the index block is filled...it splits into two index bloks and data is now half half in both index blocks...i don't understand this...if this is true then it means that each index block will be half empty always...kindly someone guide me that is this true because i have read this in oracle xertification book published by oracle...or am i missunderstanding this...
