how are sessions in TSM handled when using a channel from RMAN

SJenkinsDec 5 2016 — edited Dec 6 2016

I'm only using one channel on RMAN but the TSM Admin is saying the system is getting flooded with sessions...

the following script has created 400+ sessions in TSM..

if I add up all of the datafiles and archive log files they are about that many.. so I am thinking RMAN is creating a sessions for each file until done..

I have multiple oracle servers acting this way..

CONFIGURE CHANNEL 1 DEVICE TYPE SBT_TAPE PARMS 'ENV=(TDPO_OPTFILE=C:\Program Files\Tivoli\TSM\AgentOBA64\tdpo.opt)';

run {

         FORMAT '%d-FULL-%T-%U'

         incremental level=0

         filesperset 1

         database

         current controlfile

         spfile;

}

example of tsm log:
