How and where to know what is the rcat db name?

432397Jul 15 2006 — edited Jul 17 2006
Hi,
I am a DBA new in this organisation, how can I come to know what is the rcat dbname.I am able to use rman. I did rman and then did connect target and got connected. I am able to see the outputs with commands report schema;list backup summary; and show all; The output of these commands says "using target database controlfile instead of recovery catalog". But I was told that they are using recovery catalog database. How to make sure?
And also I assume there should be rman user in the databases which are being backed up but there is no rman user. I could find that a table MGMT_RCVCAT_CRED is owned by sysman. It is a 10.1.0.4 db.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
/KH
