Housekeeping of event_log table in Audit Vault

User_HCU9JJul 15 2015 — edited Aug 11 2015

The ASM diskgroup EVENTDATA is 90% full. I deleted a lot of rows from EVENT_LOG table which were older then two weeks. However I have to reorganize this partioned table to reclaim space. The table is spread on several tablespaces and is 25 GB(more than 20 million rows) big with a lot of partitons. Is it possible to move it temporarily to RECOVERY diskgroup and back to the same tablespaces? Or should we switch off auditing before? Does it have any negative effects, moving the table? Can I shrink it? In segment advisor I got "The object has some free space but cannot be shrunk because ORA-47401: Realm violation for ALTER TABLE on AVSYS.EVENT_LOG"

I know there is an option to move the older information to an archiving location and set up policies for this, but we cannot do it in the next three weeks and I have only 1,5 GB free on the diskgroup. If we archive it, then it won't do it anyway for older values, before the timestamp of setting the archiving.

THX and Regards,

Gàbor
