Hot Backup

user12053794Mar 29 2012 — edited Mar 29 2012
We take hot backup at 6 pm (daily, completed with in 1 to 2 hrs).
At 11:30 PM all archive log files will be backup seperately by BackupExec and the log files are deleted from Oracle Archive folder.

Day before yesterday for some reason the copy of data file hung up (after alter database begin backup was issued in the Hot backup script)
As the copy was hung up, "alter database end backup" was not issued, the db was in the backup mode.
Mean while the BackupExec deleted the archive log file from Oracle Archive folder.

Yesterday's hot backup was completed successfully, only alter database begin backup failed (ORA-01146: cannot start online backup - file 1 is already in backup)
After hot backup "alter database end backup" was issued successfully.

Since the archive logs was deleted whien the database is still in the backup mode, will all the data generated duing the backup mode applied to the data file?

Please advise.

Thanks in Advance,

Arul
