HISTORY IN APEX

Hi,
Can anyone let me know if this can be done in APEX.

i have a simple apex application with a form and report.....

users can edit or insert the rows.....

users want to compare the present data in the report with some history data.....say if there are 10columns with 20records in the present report.....they want to compare this report with the last months data....

APEX application inserts and edits records ...how can we store the history....
