Historical Data Management in BPM

user6473912Oct 27 2015 — edited Oct 29 2015

Hi all,

We have a business requirement that needs a report of historical business transactions made in BPM processes (mainly workflow aprovals). There are about 150 transactions performed perday with detailed data. We're having discussions on how to manage this requirement:

1. First, we proposed to use our BI platform (OBIEE) for these reports, but they are used operationally, not for analysis/analytics purposes

2. We then started exploring the option of keeping the historical transactions in BPM since they are not too much per day although they do contain a lot of data (and the historical information must be kept for up to 2 years). I personally don't like this option since BPM should not be used for this purpose, but the same happens for option 1 when trying to use BI platform for something it is not intrinsically designed for.

What do you think? What would you recommend?

Any comment will be appreciated. Thank you very much in advance,

-Carlos
