High CPU usages on Linux machine

668822Aug 31 2009 — edited Sep 1 2009
hello all,

we have 2 oracle database server on different locations....both the servers are having same hardware configuration and same OS configuration

OS:- RHEL3 (32-bit)
database: Oracle 9.2.0.4

both having same number of concurrent sessions 187-200, but still server 1 show very high memory usage than server2...i am not able to find the cause of it....both servers are running same application and it is web based...what might be the reason for that.??? the server with high usages shows

1. db file scattered read
2 db file sequential read
3. SQL* net more data to client

wait events in statspack report, i also checked network for traffic and it is sustainable by existing network...so what might be causing high CPU usages??? i also fount data from vmstat and it shows swpd=0 us=14 and suficient free and cached memory

any suggestion will be appreciable

thanks and regards
VD
