high availibility architecture

jef_2802Dec 17 2016 — edited Dec 19 2016

Hi,

we need to implement a high availibility architecture for database side (Oracle 12 c on Linux).

We plan to use Oracle RAC and for DRP (disaster recovery plan on a remote secondary site) we think about Oracle data guard.

Is it necessary to have both Oracle RAC and dataguard on both sites ?

Is Oracle extended RAC an option ?

The customer uses VPLEX (EMC solution) to replicate data from san storage, so it is necessary to use Oracle data guard ?

Thanks a lot
