Hiding the Text part of the Popup Lov

I am using a  popup Lov for executing a dynamic action  and populate some fields .   when I select a record from popup lov the dynamic action will fire.  On the Lov I wanted either one of the following

1   The text part of the POPUP LOV to be hidden,   meaning only want to display the  Link Icon(Up arrow )  .Is there any way to do this this?

2 If the above is not possible , I wanted display empty in the Text box of the Lov, before  and after selection . is this possible ?
