HFM (weblogic server , IIS6.0)

Hi ,
Now, I am trying to install HFM.
I found that HFM needs weblogic server and IIS6.0 as its components.
I would like to know why the HFM needs two application servers.
Do I need to install both of them?
I checked out those documents, but could not find any relative information from,

Documentation Library
E-delivery documents(epm_install_start)

Does anyone have information about it?
