Hi All,

Being a starter With the HFM needs to clarify some issue i faced in past and some hurdles that is currently happening hope to hear the way out through this forum which is already very helpful for me.


I have installed the HFM 11.1.2.0 and configured it using Oracle Databases the ( Oracle Enterprise Edition)

Now i have made an consolidation application using the financial management windows utility
by navigating

start--> All Programs-->Oracle EPM System --> Financial Management and the selecting the financial management utility


As far as my knowledge HFM uses the RDBMS like Oracle Or Sql Databases.

How do i have to connect the RDBMS to Applicaiton ??

I may b wrong but i found some thing on the same location with the name
"Hyperion System 9 Financial Management Configuration Utility"

In the last tab of this Extended Analytic's DSNs i m trying to configure the database user which i made for HFM applicaiton,

I have two questions here

Q 1 = I have made a separate user for this, do i need to work with old user from which i configure the HFM while i installed it.??

Q 2 = Crating a udl file for the DSN will work for this?
