Help with Virtual Machine problems
843811Dec 7 2003 — edited Dec 8 2003Ok, I've been pulling my hair out for weeks now trying to get JVM working on our network here. We are currently running ISA Server on our internet server, and the clients are all configured as securenat. The clients all use a Terminal Services server to work on.
Now..
After installing Sun's java 1.4.2_06 on both my laptop locally, and the terminal server, I originally was getting an authentication box coming up. I solved this issue by manually entering out proxy servers address and port number.
Now, however, whenever I open any page that has a Java applett on it, I just get the coffee cup symbol at the top left of the screen and a blank grey square and the status bar of IE 6.0 says "loading java applet" and does nothing else no matter how long I leave it.
The java console doesn't display any error messages at all. This happens on ANY site that has a java applet on it.
Now, is there anything I might have to change/configure on the ISA server in order to get Sun's java working properly? I was under the impression that it just used HTTP protocol and port 8080 as per normal webbrowsing.
Note that Microsoft VM was working fine. The upgrade was needed due to needing to access a site that used Java that needed at least JRE 1.3.1 or higher.
I have searched through all the posts on this and any other forum I could find on the internet, and couldn't find any solutions to the problem. Also googled every known combination of search words to try and find someone that is having similar problems, but it looks like I'm on my own. Hopefully someone here is good enough with the virtual machine and proxy servers to be able to help me out.
Here is the output of a internet browsing session thorugh the java console when trying to open an applet.
