Infrastructure Software

Hi
I am struggling to decide whether or not I should download SUN SOLARIS 10 x86.
As there seems to be no support for most of my hardware and also as I have Limited Data Plan(2.5GB @ 2Mbps).
I am currently using Fedora 7 and Windows XP Filesystems are ext3,swap and ntfs.

After going through HCL,.which didn't provide results too conlusive,I downloaded "Solaris Operating System for x86 Installation Check" ISO file.
When I booted the PC from burnt CD (SONY DVD DRIVE;Secondary Master), it showed "Loading GRUB...".
After this nothing happened but Drive was in continuos use, as its led was blinking continuosly.(I kept it on for almost an hour)
I tested the CD in VMWare.It worked and it asked me whether to save some report file in floppy drive.

Please tell me if my hardware can run solaris.
Please help me.I want to use Solaris.
Any information will be high appreciated.
