help needed ( serial comm on ipaq)

hi all ,
i am working on a project to do serail communication between ipaq and our elctronic module.
ipaq is running pocket pc 2002, jeode vm
ive got codewarrior pda edition ide ,
my question is that in order to do serial comm what else do i need ( javax.comm etc or any other package )
any suggestions on JNI etc,
any help /direction is much appreciated.
