Help installing web agent patches on OES 634

Ok, sorry I have to post this question here, but seeing as the Express Server forum has gone away on metalink...

I'm trying to install patches for OES (Patch 3930051) and Web Agent (6.3.4 patch 7). For both of these patches, I need to attach certain database files RW. For example: XPADMIN.db, xwdevkit.db, owagraph.db, xwtext.db, xwhtml.db, etc.

The problem I have is that I don't seem to be able to attach these databases RW no matter what I do. I've made sure the "read only" box is unchecked in windows, made sure the "attribute" command wasn't showing a R, etc.

Did I miss a setting somewhere?
