Hello World! Need a guide

I'm very very new (live 30 min) new to Java Programming. I've been reading through how to's and I've downloaded the SDK and NetBeans. Can someone direct me to a guide for basic text input and returns?

For instance, I want to input LOL, and the program return Laughing Out Loud. I suppose I'll need a library that I'll need to build and what not....

Any direction?
