I am wondering why the Java Cache Viewer is so slow to start
I had 13 applications installed. When I pressed the "View..." button (or call javaws -viewer) my CPU started working hard. It used about 40% of my CPU for a while and then dropped to about 15%
After 3m35s the "Java Cache Viewer" vindow were shown but without content
After 5m46s the table populated and the application were ready.
I can understand from several of my customers that they have the same problem. Colleagues on Mac complain about the same problem in recent Java versions
I run javaws (1.8.0_45-b15) on Windows 8.1
If I clear the cache (which also takes several minutes) and installs a single application it takes about 45s for the Cache Viewer to show.
What could be the reason that it takes javaws nearly 6 minutes to display a list of 13 elements?
Have any of you seen the same problem?
