Hard drive performance benchmark

What is the best app to run benchmark on my hard drives. I am using solaris 10 U4 on an x86 machine. Also what kind of performance boost would you expect if I stripped two drives. Right now I have two 1TB drives with zfs. I would like to put them in a stripped array but if the performance to risk ratio isn't very good then I will just leave them as they are..
