Guest OS communication

Hi Folks,

I am trying VMware for 1st time and stuck at network config.

Running host OS Win7.. installed VM 4.1 and created 2 guest OS (Win XP).

I want to setup communication (main aim it to create cluster) between two newly created guest OS.

So for n/w setting, selected Host-only Adapter and adapter name as Virtualbox host-only ethernet adapter. Also gave different MAC address to both guest OS...

then withing guest os... setup a LAN... with IP address as 192.168.10.1 and 192.168.10.2 respectively. Now I am not able to make communication between this two machine... tried to ping each other - err was "Request timed out"...

Please help me point out something that i might be missing in this configuration...
