Guest machine in portrait mode?

WTig3nerMay 19 2020 — edited May 25 2020

Apologies if someone else has asked this question; I could not find it when I searched.

I am running Kubuntu 20.04 with a Windows 10 vm that I copied from VMware Workstation 14, because VMware doesn't yet have modules to support 20.04.

My VirtualBox VM opens and runs properly, but it does not display properly.  I have my screens in portrait mode rather than landscape.  The VirtualBox VM shows up only in landscape mode (and about laptop-screen size).  I have horsed around with full screen (which only makes the border around the vm larger, not the vm itself) and scaling the screen (which distorts everything).

If I can get this straightened out, I'm inclined to switch from VMware to VirtualBox permanently.  I will appreciate any suggestions.  Bear in mind that I'm none too bright to begin with (and very old), so please use small words and small steps.

Many thanks.
