Group add problem while trying to install Oracle on linux

Hi All,

Toady i am trying to install Oracle 10g on RHEL 5 after performing all prequisites when i am trying to add user group i am getting below error :

bash:groupadd:command not found

i am logged in with root

can anyone tell me the possible reason for the same
