Google Maps and Mapviewer with SRID 8307 as the display SRID.

LJ recently posted the very concise example ( thanks !!) of how to display google maps in mapviewer on his blog.

Questions that I am soliciting answers form the forum is:

1) When using Google Map Tiles, is the assumption made that the SRID for the map will, or should be SRID 3785 ?
2) Does the google capability support the google tiles to be mashed up on a mapviewer map with SRID 8307 ? ( I ask because we have tried and we have scale mismatch - perhaps the zoom levels need to be set to 20 ?)
