Google Apps content and UCM

M.HensarlingApr 27 2010 — edited Jul 13 2010
Our enterprise has a significant effort underway to begin utilizing Google Apps in some capacity. Usage around collaborative documents like meeting minutes, agendas, etc that allow real-time edits from all members. We'll continue to use UCM as a central repository for legal records, employee files, etc, etc. Does any one have experiences or war stories in a similar scenario of using multiple repositories with Google Apps being one of them? My biggest concerns are legal compliance with federal and state records laws, federated search capability and the ability to perform e-Discovery as efficiently as possible.

We've looked at the Google Search Appliance but on the surface found it to be cost prohibitive and are looking for other suggestions. We've toyed with pulling a record copy of the Google Apps "document" into the UCM system nightly so we can apply records retention where applicable, etc. We're are implementing Oracle's SES/Federated Search capability.

Again just throwing the scenario out to the community to hear what some of the ideas are that come out..
