Google Analytics and application management

I did a search for this, but didn't find much, so we'll see what this post will get me.
Has anyone used Google Analytics on their Application Express pages? I'm wanting to experiment with it and use it, but wanted to hear from others who are experienced with it and if it's working out with their ApEx applications.
Specifically, I'd love to know how you deal with using Google Analytics in a dev/prod environment of ApEx. We have a dev and a prod workspace and whenever we are ready to migrate an application from dev to prod, we simply export it from dev and import it into prod. If I implement Google Analytics, I do not want anything in dev to be recorded by Google Analytics, but of course, all of prod. Any recommendations on how to implement Google Analytics in prod only when you also need to maintain a dev/prod environment?
