GoldenGate to migration our production db on AIX to linux

We are going to have a production migration soon within couple months. We are looking into GoldenGate option for zero downtime.

But except a oracle Lab I attended, I really did not do any goldengate in real databases.

Can anybody give me links of steps how to implement? Is it possible to install that goldengate on running Prod database?

Any advices will be highly appreciated.
